Minneapolis Structured Electrical Entry Program

Young Caucasian Electrician In Uniform With Tool In Customer's House Repairing Or Installing Electrical Equipment

Minimum requirements: You must be at least 17 years old to apply (18 to be hired), be a high school graduate, or have your GED.  You must have completed one full credit of algebra or higher math with a grade of C or better and possess a valid driver’s license.

Black, Latinx, Indigenous, and other people of color are encouraged to register.

Individuals selected for this program will be given training to prepare them for entry-level employment in the electrical construction industry. Training will consist of;

  • Class size maximum of 15
  • 2 evening classes a week from Sept 16-Dec19
  • Hands-on electric lab projects
  • Online homework

This training is with the Minneapolis Electrical JATC through the IBEW Local 292.

Upon successfully completing the Minneapolis Structured Electrical Entry Program, individuals will be entered into the Minneapolis Electrical JATC training program and placed for employment as apprentice electricians with a union contractor.

Individuals will need to apply here through RATC.
